Human capital development and economic growth in Nigeria: a structural break perspective

The study examined human capital development and economic growth in Nigeria using secondary data obtained from CBN statistical bulletin for the period of forty years between 1981-2020. Agriculture (AGR), Civil-Service (CIVSER), Education (EDU), Health (HLTH), Manufacturing (MANU) Transportation (TRANSP) sectors Nigerian economy were used 1981 to 2020 as proxies expenditure on independent variables studies while Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was proxy dependent variable. Structural break analysis which shows no structural occurrence within study. It could also be seen that civil servants, education, manufacturing health found significant with exception agriculture transportation not least square results generated analysis. Generally, R-squared Adjusted 96% 95% respectively, it submitted under consideration, there is smooth correlation Nigeria. Adjustment Program (SAP) introduced July 1986 lasted till June 1998 strong enough influence growth. This supported by graph cusum graph.
